Rachel Mbuki is a TV Host, Actress and beauty queen. She is former Miss Kenya who represented Kenya at the Miss Universe pageant at the age of 18. A top Kenyan model, TV Host, wife and entrepreneur, she moved to Miami shortly after her reign as Miss Kenya where she pursued her modeling career and made her American TV Hosting debut. In Kenya, she had been on television since the age of six on Kenya’s KBC Network as host on a children’s’ Christian TV show. As an adult, she continued to host multiple shows on the channel and was one of the two main Hosts of the “Good Morning Kenya” breakfast show when she left for Miami to work as a model.
In Miami. she quickly transitioned from model to TV host when she worked as an on air correspondent for major events such as Miami Fashion Week, The Super bowl and other media events. Ready to further pursue her TV hosting career, she then moved to Los Angeles 3 years later where she pursued a career in Journalism and completed her Broadcast Journalism and Communication degrees. Shortly after getting to Los Angeles, she became a news anchor at Transit TV Los Angeles, the channel that broadcasts to Metro Commuters in Los Angeles and reached 1.1 million daily impressions. The NBA All Star Games, The Academy Awards, movie premier red carpets and LA Fashion Week are among other major events she has covered while in Los Angeles. Recently Rachel has featured as one of the singers in Diane Warren’s 2020 Oscar Nominated song, “Im standing with you.”
As of Dec 2021, Rachel lives in Beverly Hills, and continues her TV hosting and acting career. A media personality, Rachel Mbuki currently hosts a TV show called “Q-Hits” that is shot at a studio in Hollywood, California and broadcast to 54 African countries via Showmax (Africa’s equivalent to Netflix). Apart from that, her knowledge in events planning, beauty and being outspoken has not left her behind in the world of hosting corporate events where she works as a master of ceremonies to give speeches, introduce speakers, give presentations to audiences and monitor event agendas to ensure that they run smoothly. Rachel is also a fashionprenuer; she has an online store dubbed, “Mbuki’s Closet” as well as a physical store, which she opened at a mall in Kilimani area in Nairobi where she brings specific brands of great quality wardrobe at affordable prices. She is also on the cusp of launching her American Fashion Brand “Werk Gal Apparel INC”, a fashionable line of work clothes for career women.
