OS ANGELES, California. — The BET Awards 2026 brought together some of the biggest names in music, film, television, sports, and entertainment for an unforgettable celebration of Black excellence at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on June 28, 2026. Hosted by comedian and entertainer Druski, the annual event once again showcased outstanding achievements while celebrating the artists, creators, and visionaries shaping global culture.

Long before the first award was presented, the red carpet became one of the evening’s biggest attractions. Celebrities, entertainers, athletes, and influencers arrived in bold couture, elegant gowns, tailored suits, and statement-making designs that reflected creativity and individuality. Fashion once again played a central role in the celebration, with stars using the red carpet to express personal style while honoring the influence of Black designers and contemporary fashion.

Among the evening’s most celebrated moments was the presentation of the inaugural Living Legend Icon Award to Lauryn Hill. The award recognized her enduring impact on music, culture, and generations of artists. Following the presentation, Hill delivered a powerful live performance that reminded audiences why she remains one of the most influential voices in modern music.

The ceremony featured an impressive lineup of performances from some of today’s biggest stars, including Cardi B, Doechii, Tems, French Montana, T.I., Queen Latifah, RAYE, Ari Lennox, BJ the Chicago Kid, George Clinton, and several special collaborative performances. The evening blended legendary artists with emerging talent, highlighting the diversity and continued evolution of Black music across multiple genres.

One of the night’s emotional highlights was an all-star tribute celebrating Lauryn Hill’s extraordinary musical legacy. The tribute featured performances of some of her most influential songs by fellow artists before Hill herself took the stage, earning a standing ovation from the audience.

The awards also recognized excellence across music, film, television, sports, and entertainment. Teyana Taylor emerged as one of the evening’s biggest winners, earning multiple honors, while industry executive Sylvia Rhone received the BET Ultimate Icon Award in recognition of her decades of leadership and contributions to the music industry.

Beyond the awards themselves, the BET Awards continued to serve as a cultural gathering that celebrates innovation, artistic achievement, entrepreneurship, and community leadership. Since its inception in 2001, the BET Awards has become one of the entertainment industry’s premier annual events, honoring the accomplishments of Black artists and creators while providing a global platform for music, storytelling, and cultural expression.

The 2026 edition reaffirmed the event’s reputation as “Culture’s Biggest Night,” delivering memorable performances, heartfelt tributes, inspiring acceptance speeches, and one of the year’s most talked-about celebrity red carpets.
