~ On Saturday June 30, 2018 Gloria Carter teamed up with business partners Kenya Grayson, and Kevin Reid to put on a Summer Love music showcase to introduce her upcoming t-shirt line. ATV was invited to attend 71 Clay Street in Newark NJ where the event was held. The event and t-shirts was inspired by the by the collaboration between Gloria and her son (Jay Z) where Ms. Carter spoke her truth in a poem at the end of the song “Smile”. The catchy phrase “Love who You Love” generated an amazing t-shirt line, which was represented by the crowd’s apparel that evening. The partners put on an astonishing event Saturday evening by showcasing three upcoming artists (Sunny Surff, Tavares TV and EMCScotty), networking with other entrepreneurs and celebrating the Love Who You Love movement.
The venue was decorated in classy white décor with a hint of black, a banner with the Gloria’s Poem hung inside at the front center stage. The tables were stunning as they lit up the room with colorful light-up ice and wine buckets. It was standing room only as all the VIP sections were filled.
The Shirts which read “Love Who you Love”, was seen throughout the event as guests, family and friends sparkled through the crowed in support of the movement. The guests arrived red carpet ready at 7:30 pm with great anticipation of the Summer Love event, which was scheduled to begin at 8pm. On the red carpet CHANNEL ATV had the opportunity to speak with several guests including the Promoter/Event Producer of the Summer Love Event (Kenya Grayson).
CHANNEL ATV was also able to interview Bruce Boyd CEO of Building Our Youth’s Development (B.O.Y.D) who was very excited about the event since his company B.O.Y.D was essential to the production of the t-shirt line. He and his wife sported two different designs of the Love t-shirt; his of a scoop neck cotton t-shirt with big hearts, hers of a blank women’s tank top with small hearts.
CHANNEL A TV Spoke to Eric Carter (son) and Rel Carter (grandson) of Gloria Carter and they collectively replied by saying how proud and excited they were for Ms. Carter’s new venture.
Promoter Kevin K’que Reid opened up the event by bringing Bianca McCall (Manager of Sunny Surff) to the stage. As Bianca introduced her artist (Sunny Surff) the crowed stood to their feet with to receive what was to come. Surff didn’t disappoint as she blazed the stage with heart felt poem to her love “Love who you Love” this brought the crowd to tears. Next Act Tidal Artist TaverasTV the powerhouse performance with his new song Stop Jocking my Space.
Featured Finale Act
Upcoming Rap Superstar Emc Scotty of Girlz District Chia town native hit the stage with her electrifying performance. This trailblazer performed songs like “BLACKOUT ANTHEM”, AND BRUNO BOUNCE.
