Seawolves Rugby takes Seattle by storm

The Seattle Seawolves are an American professional rugby union team based in Seattle, Washington. The team was founded in 2017 and competes in Major League Rugby, the top-level rugby competition in the United States that played its first season in 2018.

A founding member of Major League Rugby (MLR), the Seattle Seawolves kicked off their inaugural season in 2018 and claimed the first-ever MLR Championship. Now the Seawolves are battling the eight other teams in the MLR for the second Championship.

The Seawolves’ ownership group is led by Seattle-based entrepreneurs Adrian Balfour and Shane Skinner. The organization strives to develop, cultivate and expand the sport of rugby in the US while empowering discipline, duty, respect and a spirit of inclusion both on and off the pitch. The Seattle Seawolves aim to foster a winning culture by enabling its members to meet their true potential while pursuing excellence in the Major League Rugby competition. Community outreach is a key tenant of the Seawolves philosophy, and the organization strives to continually help to enrich and give back to the greater Seattle and Pacific Northwest areas.

The reigning MLR Champion Seawolves kicked off the 2019 MLR season at their home stadium, Starfire Sports in Tukwila, Washington on January 27, 2019, defeating the Glendale Raptors. The MLR season runs through June 2019. Select MLR games will be televised on the CBS Sports Network as part of an exclusive, multi-year television partnership between MLR and the television network with the “CBS Game of the Week”. The majority of the Seawolves matches will be shown regionally on ROOT Sports and ESPN/ESPN+ nationally.
