XFL Officially Cancels 2020 Season

The XFL has scrapped the rest of its revival season due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The COVID-19 pandemic, and the most recent local and state regulations, have left the XFL no choice but to officially cancel the remainder of the 2020 season,” the league said in a statement. “This decision has been made with the health and safety of the entire XFL family as our top priority. While we are disappointed to not complete the 2020 season, our hearts are full of appreciation for your overwhelming support.”

The XFL is a professional American football league owned by Vince McMahon’s Alpha Entertainment. Consisting of eight teams, which are divided equally between an East and West division, the league was founded in 2018 and began play in 2020.

The team is a franchise of the new XFL founded by Vince McMahon’s Alpha Entertainment and plays its home games at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
