Washington Huskies Roll Past Eastern Washington 48–16 at Husky Stadium

Demond Williams Jr. Throws Four Touchdowns as Washington Improves to 3–0

SEATTLE, WASH. — The University of Washington Huskies continued their strong start to the 2026 football season with a commanding 48–16 victory over Eastern Washington on Saturday, September 19, at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium.

The victory moved Washington to 3–0 on the season and completed the Huskies’ 2026 nonconference schedule. Eastern Washington entered the game with a 1–2 record.

DEMOND WILLIAMS JR. LEADS THE OFFENSE

Washington quarterback Demond Williams Jr. delivered one of the biggest performances of the afternoon, completing 27 of 33 passes for 373 yards and four touchdowns.

Williams’ four touchdown passes tied his career high and made him the first Washington quarterback since Michael Penix Jr. in 2023 to throw four touchdown passes in a half. His performance also earned him recognition as one of the Manning Stars of the Week.

The Huskies’ passing attack was particularly effective throughout the afternoon, helping Washington build a substantial lead early and maintain control of the game.

ROEBUCK RECORDS CAREER DAY

Wide receiver Dezmen Roebuck was another standout for Washington, recording a career-high nine receptions for 121 yards.

Rashid Williams added six receptions for 86 yards and two touchdowns, including a spectacular one-handed touchdown reception that helped Washington extend its advantage.

Washington finished the game with 546 total yards, including 398 passing yards and 148 rushing yards. Eastern Washington finished with 315 total yards — 142 rushing and 173 passing.

HUSKIES CONTROL THE GAME FROM THE START

Washington established momentum early, scoring 14 points in the first quarter and adding another 17 points in the second quarter.

The Huskies entered halftime with a 31–10 advantage.

Washington added another touchdown in the third quarter and 10 points in the fourth to close out the 48–16 victory.

The Huskies converted 6 of 11 third downs and held the Eagles to 5-of-16 on third down. Washington also controlled the yardage battle, 546–315.

A STRONG START TO 2026

The victory continued Washington’s perfect opening to the 2026 season. The Huskies began the campaign with a 24–10 Apple Cup victory over Washington State, followed by a home win over Utah State before defeating Eastern Washington.

The Eastern Washington game also marked the conclusion of Washington’s nonconference schedule before the Huskies turned their attention to Big Ten competition.

GAMEDAY AT HUSKY STADIUM

Beyond the action on the field, September 19 was a celebration of Husky tradition and community. The game was designated Community Day, bringing together fans, students, alumni and members of the broader Seattle community.

The Husky Marching Band also contributed to the atmosphere inside Husky Stadium, continuing one of the longstanding traditions associated with Washington football.

With the purple and gold filling the stadium, the afternoon represented another memorable chapter in the 2026 Husky football season.

LOOKING AHEAD

At 3–0, Washington heads into the next phase of its schedule with momentum after three consecutive victories to open the season.

For Husky fans, the early-season performances from Williams Jr., Roebuck, Rashid Williams and the rest of the Washington offense provide plenty to watch as the Huskies move forward.
